Ayurveda: The Science of Life

At the time, I was living a peaceful life in a small beach town in Turkey—teaching yoga full-time, eating well, and taking care of myself. But I was still struggling with chronic migraines and acid reflux.

I was teaching yoga every day, eating healthy, going to bed early, taking care of myself in all the ways I knew how. Still, I was struggling. Chronic migraines. Ongoing digestion issues. Two endoscopies. Constant stomach burning. I was carrying pills everywhere.

Then, Ayurveda showed up in my life.

When I was invited to teach at an Ayurvedic retreat, everything I learned there instantly made sense. I had already been teaching yoga through the lens of the five elements—earth, water, fire, air, and space—and exploring their connection to the chakra system. Ayurveda is rooted in those same elements, aligning us with the natural rhythms of our bodies, the seasons, and the world around us. It didn’t feel like new information—it felt like remembering something I had always known.

The more I learned, the more I recognized the wisdom my grandmother had. The way she lived. The things she used to say. It was all Ayurveda because she was very connected with the cycles of nature.

As always, when I feel a strong connection, I go deep. I started attending workshops, reading, doing seasonal detoxes—and for the first time in years, my digestion started to shift. I began practicing Ayurveda like I practiced yoga: every day, as a way of living. That led me to complete a 200-hour Ayurveda Coaching training so I could share this beautiful, intuitive system in a grounded and accessible way.

Ayurveda: The Science of Life

Ayurveda is an ancient holistic healing system from India. The word itself means “the knowledge of life”ayuh (life) and veda (wisdom). It sees health as something deeply personal. What works for one body might not work for another—and that’s the beauty of it.

According to Ayurveda, health isn’t just the absence of illness—it’s feeling whole and connected to yourself. The Sanskrit word for health, svastha, means to be established in the Self—when body, mind, and soul are in harmony.

Ayurveda offers simple, practical tools to help you align your lifestyle with your natural rhythm. It helps you know what to eat, how to move, how to rest, and how to adjust with the seasons and even the time of day.

The key to balance? Digestion. Of food, emotions, thoughts—everything! When your digestion is strong and your daily habits support your true nature, you feel better. Clearer. More connected.

And it all begins with understanding your relationship with the five elements.

The Five Elements & The Doshas

In Ayurveda, everything in nature (including us) is made up of five elements:

  • Vayu (Air)
  • Jala (Water)
  • Akasha (Space)
  • Teja (Fire)
  • Prithvi (Earth)

These elements combine into three energy types called Doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Everyone has all three doshas in them, but the balance is unique to each of us.

  • Vata (Air + Space): Represents movement and creativity. Brings energy, flow, and connection—but when out of balance, can feel anxious or ungrounded.
  • Pitta (Fire + Water): Represents transformation and intensity. Brings focus, drive, and passion—but can become impatient or overheated under pressure.
  • Kapha (Earth + Water): Represents stability and nourishment. Brings calmness, grounding, and compassion—but can feel stuck or heavy when imbalanced.

How I Use Ayurveda in My Work
I use Ayurveda as the base of all my 1:1 holistic coaching and seasonal programs. It’s how I help people feel more aligned, balanced, and connected with their natural rhythm—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

My 1:1 Tailored Well-Being Plan is a long-term, personalized roadmap based on your dosha, needs, goals, and imbalances. It includes Ayurvedic nutrition, mindful movement, breathwork, stress management tools, and sleep support.

I also offer shorter programs like the Recovery Plan, which gently supports the body after illness or antibiotic use, and the 10-Day Reset, a seasonal Ayurvedic detox to clear toxins, boost immunity, and support smooth transitions through Spring and Autumn. Each plan is rooted in ancient wisdom, made simple and practical for everyday life.

I bring Ayurveda into the workplace too, through my Mindful Team Experiences—interactive well-being sessions designed to promote team connections and healthy habits. These include activities like the Team Cooking Challenge, where teams cook seasonal Ayurvedic meals together, and the Healthy Community Brunch, a mindful lunch followed by a short session on seasonal Ayurvedic routines for energy and focus.

These programs are designed to support more conscious, healthy, and connected work cultures—where people feel good, together.

Why It Matters?
Ayurveda helped me understand my body and energy in a way no other method ever had and gave me the tools to create balance and rhythm in my life.

I rarely experience migraines anymore and my digestion feels mostly balanced—but of course, I still get out of balance from time to time. The difference is, now I know what to do when it happens. I know how to listen, reset, and take care of myself. And this is exactly what I’m dedicated to sharing and inspiring in others!

Now, I share Ayurveda because I know how powerful, accessible, and life-changing it can be.

If you’re feeling out of sync, overwhelmed, burnt out, or simply curious—Ayurveda might be the gentle shift you’ve been waiting for.

Let’s reconnect you with your natural rhythm!
